The Free Software Festival is a national gathering of various communities interested in Free Software. Over the course of three days, we will have several presentations, panels, and workshops.

The first Free Software Festival in Moita took place at the facilities of the now-defunct Universidade Independente, in Palheirão, in 2004. It was co-organized by Humaneasy Consulting and ANSOL - Associação Nacional para o Software Livre (National Association for Free Software), with the support of the Municipality of Moita, Universidade Independente, and several entities and communities related to Free Software.

The second edition of the Free Software Festival, organized in 2018 also by Humaneasy Consulting and ANSOL with the support of the Municipality of Moita, included a program of lectures, demonstrations, workshops, information sessions, hackathons, a zone for the installation of free software, live music entertainment, and other attractions. During the event, we had the presence and collaboration of the Ubuntu Portugal Community, Wikimedia Portugal, OSGeo Portugal, Drupal Portugal, D3, RepRap, Linux Tech, among others.
